Born in Guadalajara, Mexico, Emmanuel was awarded a bachelors degree in sound production (School for Audio Engineering - SAE Institute, Sydney) in 2011 and a masters in creative industries, with a major in music & sound (Queensland University of Technology) in 2013. His work investigates the interactions between people, places and sound; the creative possibilities of using technology to interact with the sound phenomenon and the potential it holds to understand ourselves and our surroundings.
His productions have featured at numerous conferences and festivals, including The Edge's (State Library of Queensland) Sound Select Cycle in Brisbane, Australia and the 2013 World Forum of Music as part of the 100 x John Cage installation curated by Ear To The Earth in New York. He has undertaken artistic development and field recording workshops with various international figures, including Francisco Lopez and Leah Barclay. In 2014, he was selected for an International Internship with Biosphere Soundscapes, a large-scale interdisciplinary art organisation connecting the soundscapes of UNESCO Biosphere Reserves across the world. During this time he formed numerous partnerships and facilitated the development of Biosphere Soundscapes in Mexico. His successful contributions have resulted in a promotion to Associate Producer where he currently leads the development phase of several projects.
